Questions
Where does the data come from?
Corporate insider trades come straight from SEC Form 4 filings, pulled from EDGAR within a minute of each filing. Congress trades come from STOCK Act disclosures. All of it is public and free to browse here, and Pro sees the newest filings first.
How often is it updated?
Every minute from 6 AM to 10 PM New York time on weekdays, the hours the SEC accepts filings. Pro sees each filing as it lands. Without Pro, a filing unlocks 4 hours after the SEC accepts it.
Is following insider trades legal?
Yes. Insiders are legally required to disclose their trades within a few days. Acting on those public disclosures is completely legal. Trading on private, non-public information is illegal, but that's a different thing.
What does the iPhone app add?
We're building an iPhone app that alerts you to new filings and, if you choose, copies a buy into your own brokerage after you approve it. It isn't out yet, and the waitlist is free.
